General Electric reported a fourth-quarter earnings per share (EPS) of $1.03, surpassing analysts' expectations of $0.89.
The company's adjusted revenue for Q4 was $18.5 billion, beating consensus estimates of $17.25 billion. This positive outcome was driven by robust performances in power and renewable energy sectors.
General Electric demonstrated strength in its power sector with a notable increase in power revenue. The company generated $5.79 billion, marking a 15% YoY growth, surpassing the projected $4.89 billion.
The renewable energy sector also showcased impressive growth, reporting revenue of $4.21 billion in Q4, a 23% YoY increase, and exceeding the estimated $3.65 billion.
Despite the positive Q4 results, General Electric's shares fell 6.7% in premarket trading due to a Q1 outlook that missed analysts' expectations.
