OpenAI Moves Up Next Level, Introduces ChatGPT-4o

OpenAI, the makers of ChatGPT, have announced their next AI model—GPT-4o—which builds upon GPT-4 and takes things to the next level.

The update was unveiled during OpenAI’s May 13 spring update event, interestingly just a day before Google is set to officially announce its own AI updates and plans at the Google I/O 2024 developer conference.

GPT-4o is touted as being both faster and more efficient than GPT-4, offering notable improvements across text, vision, and audio capabilities, according to OpenAI’s claims.

The new AI model will be rolled out iteratively to all ChatGPT users for free, with some of the text and image capabilities becoming available immediately.

OpenAI states that because the new model is so efficient, it is able to provide it to non-paying ChatGPT users as well.
