Apple iOS 17 comes with all the “Most requested features”

In January, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reported that Apple’s iOS 17 iPhone software update would primarily focus on bug fixes and performance enhancements. However, Gurman suggests that the update may include several requested new features.

Overview

In his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman stated that Apple intended iOS 17 to be a “tuneup release” focused primarily on bug fixes and performance enhancements rather than numerous new features. Apple made this choice partly because of its problems with the previous iOS 16 update, which added several new features but was delayed. It also had a rough start, with bugs needing multiple updates.

The forthcoming software update, which is expected to include new features, will be showcased in June at Apple’s WWDC 2023. According to reports, a redesigned CarPlay experience that will better integrate with vehicle functions like air conditioning and FM radio is one of these features.

Additionally, it is anticipated that Apple’s virtual assistant, Siri, will only respond to “Siri” instead of the “Hey Siri” trigger phrase. Gurman’s newsletter claims that Apple has altered its perspective towards development of iOS 17, codenamed Dawn, and that it may now include several features that customers have requested.

Final Note

This has traditionally been viewed as an advantage over Apple’s ecosystem by Android users. Additionally, support for Apple’s forthcoming augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) headset, which is currently in development and may be unveiled soon, is anticipated to be included in iOS 17.
