Designmynight, a hospitality booking platform, raised $6.35 million (£4.9 million) for their new technology venture. Nick Telson-Sillett and Andrew Webster, who sold Designmynight for £25 million in 2017, have raised financing for Trumpet, a new digital sales platform, alongside co-founder and CEO Rory Sadler.
AlbionVC, a London-based venture fund manager, led the seed funding round, which also included previous investors Lightbird Ventures, Anamcara Capital, and Triple Point Ventures. The fund manages approximately $1 billion (£778 million).
Trumpet, founded in 2021, intends to simplify B2B sales by providing a simple online environment where all deal data are organized, allowing sales teams to communicate with buyers and close agreements more smoothly, even when they aren’t directly involved.
According to Sadler, a former sales lead at software company Hotjar, the current economic situation has caused companies to tighten their belts, requiring sales teams to shift their approach to selling.
“We help businesses collaborate and centralise their buyer journeys, enhancing sales efficiency and velocity. “Our proprietary revenue intelligence signals help revenue leaders forecast and understand their deal pipeline like never before,” he added.
Trumpet will use the new capital to integrate artificial intelligence and expand in the US, where it now has 20% of its customer base. The company currently does not have any marketing or staff stationed there.
AlbionVC’s investment director, Paul Lehair, praised Rory, Nick, and Andrew for creating a dynamic B2B platform. Trumpet’s attractive design and ease of use have proven useful for worldwide teams. There is so much potential for Pods to own not only buyer-seller talks, but also other aspects of B2B communications, and I’m excited to engage with the team as they develop and flourish.”
Trumpet now has over 10,000 users and more than 250 paying customers, which include Cognism, OpenTable, Sky Media, and Crossbeam.
