Plug and Play Alberta has unveiled its fifth cohort lineup, comprising 72 startups tailored to industry-specific focuses including Digital Health, Sustainability, Food & Beverage, and Sector Agnostic (AI) accelerator programs.

Among the selected startups, 42% hail from Alberta, while 78% represent Canada. Additionally, 22% originate internationally, with participants coming from countries such as the United States, Spain, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

Lindsay Smylie, Director of Plug and Play Alberta, highlighted the collaborative strides made over the past two years between cohort startups and the Plug and Play network, emphasizing the remarkable progress achieved. Smylie expressed eagerness to leverage this momentum with the fifth cohort to further bolster Alberta’s tech ecosystem.

Over the next 12 weeks, cohort participants will immerse themselves in networking events, workshops, mentor sessions, and various activities. These engagements aim to enhance their prospects for securing exclusive pilot programs, proof of concepts, new customers, and investments. Furthermore, participants will benefit from integration into Plug and Play’s extensive global network, connecting them with over 80,000 startups, 500+ industry-leading corporate partners, and numerous venture capital firms.
