Former Disney CEO Bob Iger has purchased a stake in Australian design firm Canva and consented to be an advisor to the company.
Canva spokesman Lachlan Andrews said in a statement, “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Bob Iger as an investor and advisor. Bob brings a wealth of experience after 15 years at the helm of one of the most loved and most creative brands in the world and we’re looking forward to working with him.”
Iger and Canva refused to comment on the size of the investment. The graphic design software company, Canva grew money in September, valuing the firm at $40 billion.
Canva is a Sydney-based company with over 75 million monthly users and helps people create videos, presentations, and other designs.
Bob Iger stepped down as CEO of Disney in December. Since December, Iger has been investing in several companies, including toymaker Funko and delivery startup GoPuff.
