GM

General Motors announced on Monday about the brand-new electric Chevrolet Blazer that’s possibly join the competition with the Tesla Model Y crossover and Ford Mustang Mach-E.

With this, the launch marks an important benchmark for General Motors in gaining attention and more industry customers to electric vehicles.

The 2024 Blazer EV is scheduled to arrive in showrooms next summer, as per General Motors. The entry level Blazer will range starting at $45,000 to $66,000 for SS performance variant with a torque of 648 pounds-foot and produce up to 557 horsepower respectively. The Detroit based automaker estimates the crossover will achieve 0-60 mph in less than 4 seconds, when compared to the Mach-E and Model Y Performance observed at about 3.5 seconds.

The new electric Chevrolet Blazer will be manufactured in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, where the traditional Blazer is set-up.

The company is expecting the electric running range of the vehicle to be between 247 miles and 320 miles, based on the variant. This is an important number for EV owners. The officials said of also offering a separate variant for the police use based on the SS model.
