Google Will Host a Search and AI Live Stream Next Week, During Which It May Discuss Its Response to ChatGPT

ChatGPT

We discussed earlier this week how Google had been internally testing several AI chatbots since it went on high alert in the aftermath of ChatGPT’s dominance. Its rival is said to be capable of putting Google Search out of business in a matter of years, and whether or not that is true, it has the tech behemoth scrambling.

Google is hosting a live event from Paris, France, on February 8, 2023, at 2:30 PM CET – that’s 8:30 AM EST – to discuss what it’s been working on. It’s unclear whether we’ll see the “Apprentice Bard” technology, which is said to provide life-like answers to search queries. Still, the event’s promotional materials indicate that Google Lens, Maps, Translate, and Shopping will be highlighted.

The invitation, distributed to several news outlets recently, states that Google will be discussing how it will “reimagine how people search for, explore, and interact with information and making it more intuitive than ever before to find what you need.”

If you want to watch the event live this Wednesday, click the link below or go to the official YouTube event page. I hope to see something about the new chatbot integrations into Google Search that some Googlers have been recently testing and providing feedback on. If the company is to compete with up-and-coming AI giants like ChatGPT, it needs to get ahead of this quickly.
