IBM exhibits strongest income advancement in three years.

IBM shares grew almost 4% in extended trading after the technology and services provider reported stronger second-quarter earnings than analysts had predicted.

Global Technology Services, one of IBM’s segment that contains managed services, outsourcing and support, delivered $6.34 billion in revenue.

The Cloud & Cognitive Software business, which constitutes Red Hat, added $6.10 billion to the revenue, up more than 6% than the FactSet consensus of $5.93 billion.

Global Business Services another of IBM’s consulting segments grew $4.34 billion in revenue, increasing almost 12% and above than the $4.03 billion FactSet consensus.
