I’m also excited about the newly-released Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS)’s Strategic Plan 2024-2028,’ exclaims Casey. Consumers are looking to take advantage of it instead of using physical cards, which is something that Casey foresees continuing to increase in the future. Biometrics, cybersecurity and IDEMIA have two things in common—’ the goal to prove you are you and mitigate any risk to our customers or public safety.’ Biometrics and cybersecurity initiatives are about safety. Although my heart has always been with State & Local programs, the consolidation of the legacy TSA HME and TWIC programs into the Universal Enrollment Services (UES) program stands out as my most challenging project,’ reflects Casey. The complexity spanned technical, contractual and operational realms involving numerous system integrations and over 40 governmental stakeholders, alongside hundreds of business stakeholders, including unions and lobbying groups.

Despite its difficulty, Casey acknowledges the invaluable collaboration among the team and stakeholders, fostering camaraderie and leaving a lasting impact on TSA. This period remains a cherished memory in Casey’s career, marked by the meaningful contributions and camaraderie forged throughout the project.

Establishing good working relationships across a wide geographic scope hinges on consistent communication. Casey emphasizes, ‘Our managers communicate well and often, adapting to local time zones and maintaining regular contact with customers.’

Additionally, they prioritize in-person visits to customers, regardless of location, staying informed about local communities and news to respond promptly to any potential impacts on operations or customers. This proactive approach ensures robust support and fosters trust across diverse regions facilitating smooth operations and enhanced customer satisfaction.
