Target Corporation has named Jim Lee as chief financial officer and member of the company’s leadership team, effective September 22, 2024. Lee will report to and succeed Michael Fiddelke, Target chief operating officer. According to a business press statement, Lee will oversee tax, risk, investor relations, treasury, internal audit, accounting, financial planning and analysis, finance skills, and corporate development.
“Jim will be an excellent addition to our leadership team as we focus on driving Target’s roadmap for growth,” said Target CEO and chair Brian Cornell. The rest of Jim’s qualifications include customer-focused leadership style and a background in strategy, company growth, and corporate governance.
Lee has over 25 years of knowledge in strategy, finance, team building, and cultural leadership. He joins PepsiCo, coming from his previous most senior position as deputy chief financial officer. Under that position, he supported the company’s global tax, treasury, investor relations, environmental, social, and governance reporting activities while also leading finance teams for PepsiCo’s global business with revenues over US $ 35 billion.
In his previous role, he had taken responsibilities including finance departments of supply chain, business development, franchise bottlers, brand and innovation, and franchise as well as financial planning and analysis. He worked as a senior vice president, finance with PepsiCo Beverages North America.

The company said that Lee, during his career, has led global teams across various finance and business development roles throughout Europe, Asia and North America. Additionally, he has worked as CFO for several divisions of PepsiCo outside North America. Moreover, he also spearheaded business development and mergers and acquisitions while serving as chief strategy and transformation officer that transformed PepsiCo Beverages-which is the largest business in North America.
Lee has been a member of several boards since joining PepsiCo, including on the boards of Celsius Holdings and Tropicana Brands Group.
