Microsoft is Set for Record Tech Deal Ever

CEO of Microsoft Satya Nadella is set to put Microsoft in the deal of highest record book.

Microsoft expressed on Tuesday that it is purchasing video game publisher Activision Blizzard for $69 billion.

It will be the highest tech deal in the USA history. In 2016, Dell brought EMC for $67 billion.

Microsoft earned $1 trillion in the past year. Even the record purchase also accounts for just a small part of the company’s valuation in year.

Microsoft still has to get the approval from Activision Blizzard ’s shareholders and also from regulators.

In the 47-year history of the company, the purchase price of this tech deal is more than twice of its previous top acquisition of LinkedIn in 2016 at cost over $26 billion.

Piper Sandler analysts wrote, “The all-cash offer to acquire ATVI for $68.7B represents the largest acquisition in Microsoft’s history but also brings attractive strategic value, particularly within the consumer technology sector where Microsoft has a smaller product portfolio. Gaming and advertising represent two segments that combined represent an incremental $1 trillion share gain opportunity for Microsoft longer-term.”
