On Thursday the country’s second largest IT Service Company, Infosys announced Mr. Nilanjan Roy, a Bharti Airtel veteran, as its chief financial officer (CFO) effective from March 1.
After serving for such a long period in this field he appointed as CFO. The post of a full-time CFO at Infosys was vacant since November 17 after its then chief financial officer M D Ranganath resigned the company citing personal reasons.
Salil Parekh, chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director at Infosys said in a statement- Mr. Roy comes to us with extensive and rich global experience. “We would like to express our deep appreciation to Jayesh Sanghrajka for taking charge as interim CFO and thank him for ably executing this very important responsibility.”-CEO said.
In the interim, Jayesh Sanghrajka, the deputy CFO of the company, was given the charge while Infosys was in look out for a suitable candidate to fill the position. Sanghrajka will continue to hold this post till the new CFO joins in March, the company said.
In a separate exchange filing Bharti Airtel, said it has accepted Mr. Roy’s resignation with effect from Feb. 28, 2019. He holds bachelor of Commerce from the University of Delhi and is a charted accountant. Prior working in Bharti Airtel, he worked about 15 years with Unilever Plc. across its global operations.
