To speed up the delivery, Walmart has decided to buy 4500 electric vans from Canoo, thereby helping the EV maker a booster in its struggling time.
Canoo gets the timeliest support through this huge order from Walmart Group.
This move from Walmart has come as a lifesaver for struggling EV manufacturer Canoo. This is slowly shaping up to be a very beneficial order of possibly initial 4,500 all-electric delivery vehicles from the retail giant, which has the potential to scale up to 10,000 EVs.
Last year when Canoo relocated its head office from California to Bentonville, Arkansas, they became neighbors, however, haven’t made any public deals so far.
Canoo chairman and CEO Tony Aquila said “We are proud to have been selected by Walmart. Walmart’s size gives a strategic advantage in today’s growing ‘need it now’ mindset,” and combined with Canoo’s American-made lifestyle delivery vehicles, it has a winning formula to smartly compete in the delivery race, globally.”
Walmart has taken a promising step forward through this deal addressing its goal of going carbon neutral by 2040.
