As an entrepreneur or businessman, even during the busiest times of your life, where you hardly get time to eat and sleep, you should take a pause and ask few questions to yourself.

A true leader learns first – as Aristotle said, “He who has never learned to obey cannot be a good commander.”

A good leader should ask themselves a certain set of questions daily. Stopping at a moment and asking questions to yourself will only add good things to life and work. “Talk to yourself once in a day, otherwise you may miss meeting an intelligent person in this world.” This quote by Swami Vivekanand says it all.

Leadership is a quality that involves looking out for everyone you are associated to. You should grow with the employees who work with you. Lead the way but make sure you stick close by.

Let’s see few questions which a leader should ask themselves for better growth.

  1. What are your Priorities as an entrepreneur or businessman?
Make sure you are disciplined. Ask yourself what your priorities for the day (daily) are. A leader should do the things first they expect others to do. Priorities may include your schedule for the day, meetings, breaks. Make a list of things you need to finish by the end of the day.
Nobody follows an individual who lacks at their work.Be strict about following rules so that people follow them too. Make sure you work to bring profit out of your business, keep an eye on the cash flow. Loss is an aspect of business, but you should know how to turn those losses into profits.
  2. Who inspires you?
You may feel tired and frustrated by the amount of pressure, but always ask yourself that who inspired you to become a leader. Family, friends, or someone you idolize – it can be anyone. Be inspiring and keep inspiring others to do good work. We are inspired by people whose quality we want to inculcate within us. So, when you become a leader, always remember who inspired you to become one.
Confidence, realization, knowledge, willpower, and communication are like the 5 fingers of your hand. This will create an aura around you and people will be inspired by you.
  1. What did you learn and what did you learn from others?
As mentioned previously, a good leader is a good learner too. You never stop learning. At the end of the day, ask yourself what have you learned today? The more you learn the more different/new approaches you have towards things.Knowing where you lack and the desire to learn are the best qualities one should manifest.
Knowing your competitors’ advantages and strengths and learning from them should be your perspective towards business. Not feeling less of yourself, but a person who wishes to learn things is a sign of a leader. With every ounce of learning, you are getting closer to be great a decision-maker.
  1. What motivates you?
Motivation is what keeps us going for life. “It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up” – Babe Ruth, this quote elucidates it aptly. Hustling and never giving up is the motivation which you should be following throughout. Do the things that motivate you.
We know it’s hard to keep up with the strenuous daily routine but question yourself on what keeps you motivated to do this. It may be meditation, yoga, talking to a dear one, or watching some motivational videos on YouTube. Do what it takes to go long. Remember why you started venturing on the path you are on now.
  1. What can be improved in your business?
Be open to ideas. Listen and improve business. Do not be clouded by the belief that if you are a leader, you have everything sorted. Somebody always will have a better idea. Listen to those around you. You never know even the tiniest thing may bring huge success.
The decision is yours but keeps your eyes and ears open for growth. Treat your employees well, they are the reason for your success. Improvement comes by following rules and staying sincere to work and that’s the exact change which you need to bring.
