Throughout the centuries, alternative medicine has been effective in curing many diseases and also to aid the healing process of the body. Electrolysis is one such growing trend. It is a method of removing an individual’s hairs from the face or body. Today’s medical electrolysis devices destroy the growth center of the hair with chemical or heat energy. Accomplishing permanent hair removal with the assistance of surgical microscopes and extensive training, Jade Electrolysiswas born. The company has developed the processes and technology to end the torment of unwanted hair. Jade’s Founder and CEOJennifer Desloges, has been in electrolysis private practice for over 30 years. Getting rid of people’s unwanted hair, permanently, is the company’s commitment, promise, guarantee, passion, competitive advantage, and competitive barrier.
Renewed Passion for Life
Jade Electrolysis is a family-owned and operated business with its roots starting in British Columbia. Jade looks at everyone involved (staff, franchises, administration, and the customer) with the day-to-day as someone who deserves respect and assistance. The companyis not only in the business of removing hair but have recently added new services, fat reduction, and micro needling. Changing the mindset of the clients, giving them a renewed passion for life. Its mission is to end the torment of unwanted hair and leave people feeling thrilled. There are currently 11 locations, with plans to grow to 20 locations within the next three years using their franchising model. To accommodate this expansion, the company has amped up its training program from two classes a year to four classes a year. It has converted three corporate locations to franchise locations in the previous 18 months. This conversion model is of utmost importance moving into 2020, with plans to convert the four remaining corporate locations to franchisees. Leaving only the head office in Richmond as their standalone corporate location. This positions the administration team to focus on growing and operating more franchise locations.
New Service with Excellent Results
Electrolysis was invented in 1869 and is the only FDA approved method for permanent hair removal. Many people who have unwanted hair have tried some or all of the temporary removal methods including waxing, shaving, and laser which often lead to skin irritation, ingrown hair, scarring and always, the return of the problem hair. Consumers are frustrated with constant appointments, false promises, expensive treatments, and negative effects. They are seeking a better way, and they find it at Jade Electrolysis. Jade is also excited to offer a new service to its clients seeking to sculpt areas ® resistant to diet, and exercise, truSculpt 3D offers excellent results in just one treatment without any ® downtime or side effects. truSculpt 3D utilizes a controlled, monopolar radiofrequency (RF) technology to deliver targeted, uniform heating of the subcutaneous adipose tissue to achieve the highest clinical efficacy in the shortest possible treatment time. Focusing on three specific characteristics – dimension, ® definition, and depth – truSculpt 3D offers an optimized and customizable approach to body sculpting for most size areas, large or small.
Biggest Market Advantage
The advocates of the Jade brand know there is no other way to permanently remove their unwanted hair. They know this because they have tried every option available in the market. Jade’s customers relate to the brand on a very personal level, while in the clinic, they feel respected, taken care of, and safe. In their minds, the company isn’t just removing their unwanted hair but giving a renewed confidence. Through this visceral connection, trust is built, and these customers become the company’s biggest market advantage for its growing brand. It has set the standard in the beauty industry for how electrolysis should be performed. The company creates an efficient permanent result through rigorous training and state of the art technology. It also educates the client on what to look for in a hair removal clinic and the warning signs to be aware of through their journey.
Experiences Shaping Journey of the Company
In 2013, the College of Physicians, and Surgeons of British Colombia tried to prevent Jade from using local anesthetic in its procedure to freeze the client. When college wanted to prevent a legal battle they choose to sit down with the company on Dec 2, 2013, and negotiated a truce. From that day forward the company has hired Registered Nurses to administer the anesthetic. Allowing the company to still provide this service to its clients.
The training structure needed to be revamped over the years as the company realized not every student was capable of performing at the level Jade expected. Introduction of a camera system in the microscope gave the trainers a deeper perspective, allowing them to see as if they were performing the treatment. This enabled a clear development of the student and guide to how the training was to be individualized.
High Quality Practitioners
Lead generation is a constant battle, Jade is working with a marketing company to get the brand in front of more eyes and has the opportunity to grow the business. On a potential franchisee challenge, the technicality within its brand can be intimidating. But the company’s training program produces high-quality practitioners. The company equates this to the franchisee’s leap of faith, believing in the system and Jade’s proven success. Jade’s mission is to end the torment of unwanted hair and leave people thrilled. The company has found a niche in the franchise world. No one else in the personal service industry is able to permanently remove hair.
Sales So Far
Marketing is a never-ending and evolving endeavor. As a company, it strives to find the best areas to allocate the marketing dollars giving its franchises the best market advantage possible. Jade Electrolysis saw its most profitable growth in 2018. The business grew 25% with sales totaling nearly $1.4 million and net profit over $625 Thousand. So far, in 2019 is seeing another substantial growth in sales upwards of 20% over last year.
A Professional Electrologist
Jade’s Origin Story began like many of its clients today, with a hair problem. When the CEO Jenifer Desloges was 19 years old, she started developing a male-type beard and body hair. She was depressed and wasn’t even sure she was truly a girl. Electrolysis saved her, and she wanted to do the same for the other people. What started as Jennifer’s curse became her blessing. In 2010, after working 12-14 hours days for 20 years, Jennifer decided she needed to do something to make sure what she knows about Electrolysis gets passed on. That day the idea of franchising electrolysis was born. The timing was perfect, consumers were becoming more educated about hair removal. The fad of laser hair removal was passing but with it brought an awareness, no longer did people feel ashamed about having unwanted hair. Jade Electrolysis hopes that one day the company will be known as the COKE, NIKE, APPLE, of the hair removal industry.
