The Israeli business has developed technologies for detecting and addressing vulnerabilities in code throughout the development stages of applications.
Calcalist has heard that software firm GitLab will pay $30-40 million for Israeli cloud security startup Oxeye. This is GitLab’s second acquisition in Israel, following its purchase of Fuzzit in 2020. Oxeye did not respond to Calcalist’s request for comment.

Oxeye, founded by Dean Agron and Ron Vider, has developed technology for detecting and correcting code flaws during the application development process. Oxeye’s security testing solution is designed for AppSec, Dev, and DevOps teams, allowing them to shift security to the left while also accelerating development cycles, reducing friction, and minimizing risks.

The cloud-native application security testing solution seeks to address the issues provided by the complexity of current infrastructures. To date, the company has raised little over $10 million from Dell Capital, Intel Capital, Merlin Ventures, MoreVC, the i3 Equity Partners fund, and angel investors.

GitLab, which has a Nasdaq market capitalization of $8.6 billion, is a web-based DevOps platform that streamlines the software development lifecycle. It promotes team cooperation with tools such as version control, problem tracking, and CI/CD pipelines. Developers can manage Git repositories, track bugs, and automate testing and deployment procedures. GitLab’s integrated approach shortens development cycles, resulting in timely delivery of high-quality software.

What began in 2011 as an open source initiative to assist one team of programmers in collaborating has evolved into the platform that millions of people use to develop software faster, more efficiently, and with more security and compliance.
We have always believed in remote work, open source, DevSecOps, and iteration. We get up and get on in the morning (or whenever we want to start our days) to collaborate with the GitLab community to bring new improvements every month that let teams focus on producing outstanding code faster rather than their toolchain.

GitLab is the most comprehensive AI-based DevSecOps platform. GitLab assists businesses with managing the increasingly complicated processes of software development, security, and deployment. By decreasing toolchain sprawl, GitLab teams spend less time managing tools, resulting in 7x faster cycles, increased developer productivity, lower software costs, and more time to focus on the products that differentiate the company.
