Virgin Australia Allies with Sabre and Google for SabreMosaic Inauguration

Virgin Australia

Virgin Australia has emerged as the launch partner for a new retail platform called SabreMosaic that has been developed by Sabre Corporation in conjunction with Google. The partnership is an important step forward for the airline in its technology capabilities, as part of an extended long-term IT and GDS distribution deal with the US-based developer of aviation technology solutions.

The SabreMosaic will be rolled out in phases over the next two years, with more than 40 products expected to be used as retailing strategies that will strengthen the airline position. Already, the Offer Management suite has been ready for rollouts: SabreMosaic Air Price IQ and SabreMosaic Ancillary IQ have started to be adopted, opening the door to what promises to be a revolutionary retailing experience.

SabreMosaic will use the power of Artificial Intelligence to provide airlines with end-to-end data intelligence. In this way, Virgin Australia will be empowered to transform its e-commerce and digital retailing offerings in the redefined landscape. What this means is an improved data-driven approach to decision-making; higher-quality operational efficiency, as well as improved customer engagement.

Speaking about partnering with Virgin Australia as the launch client for SabreMosaic, Roshan Mendis, Chief Commercial Officer, Sabre Travel Solutions, “I am proud to have this first customer. This transformative platform is going to revolutionize airline retailing, providing Virgin Australia’s travelers with a personalized and dynamic experience for the first time. That is a new era. SabreMosaic is now accessible to airlines around the world.”

This will help Virgin Australia to become the most loved airline in Australia, according to its Chief Information Officer David Hogarth. “This partnership enables that by enhancing our offerings and guest interactions,” he said.

With modular design from SabreMosaic, Virgin Australia is able to operate in a hybrid environment while working its way from traditional EDIFACT systems toward fully NDC and Offer and Order frameworks. It will always utilize the SabreSonic Passenger Service System (PSS) and related solutions during this evolutionary change.

Garry Wiseman, Chief Product and Technology Officer of Sabre Travel Solutions, thinks Virgin Australia has been part of really critical work on the SabreMosaic platform. “Theirs are insights that have helped in refining scope and functionality of SabreMosaic to better meet the true operational needs of airlines,” Wiseman said.
