Viggle AI Raises $19 Million in Series A Funding Led by Andreessen Horowitz

Andreessen Horowitz

Viggle AI, a Canadian start-up pioneering character animation through generative artificial intelligence, has raised $19 million USD in Series A funding led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with additional participation from Two Small Fish. This funding round will enable Viggle AI to scale its operations, accelerate product development, expand its team, and further establish its leadership in controllable video generation and AI animation.

The new investment comes at a pivotal moment for Viggle AI, as the company experiences rapid growth alongside increasing consumer demand for user-friendly AI tools that bring advanced technology into the mainstream. Founded to simplify the animation process, Viggle AI allows users to create lifelike animations using simple text-to-video or image-to-video prompts. Its proprietary JST-1 technology is the first video-3D foundation model designed with a deep understanding of physics, enabling the creation of realistic character movements.

Viggle AI gained widespread attention earlier this year when viral videos surfaced showing Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker persona replacing rapper Lil Yachty’s walkout at the Summer Smash Festival. This exposure catapulted the platform into the spotlight, attracting millions of users, including professional animators, major streamers, production studios, content creators, and hobbyists. Viggle AI has cultivated a vibrant community on Discord, with four million members who exchange insights and collaborate on creative projects.

In addition to its core offerings, Viggle AI has launched the Viggle Creator Program, aimed at empowering artists and creators with exclusive benefits. Program members receive a Viggle Pro subscription, 1,000 additional credits (equivalent to 250 minutes of video), early access to new features, and opportunities to connect with fellow creators through an exclusive community channel. This initiative supports both emerging talent and established professionals in exploring the full potential of AI-powered animation.

“We are thrilled to welcome a16z and Two Small Fish as partners in our next phase of growth,” said Hang Chu, CEO and co-founder of Viggle AI. “Their investment not only validates our vision but also empowers us to redefine the possibilities in AI-driven character animation. As demand for AI in creative processes grows, Viggle AI is uniquely positioned to meet this need by integrating cutting-edge methodologies for building and scaling AI. We look forward to expanding our technology’s reach and pushing the boundaries of creativity for a broader audience.”
